The XTC legacy:

A group of friends (Mark included) which were casual Quake 2 players at the time wanted to take their gaming a little more seriously and decided, hey let's make a clan and the name XTC popped up as a possible tag. From this the name This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. was born. The name really suited the gaming scene as it is similar to that of an email or web address which screams technology and an online presence. Little did they know, but this was the beginning of a legacy, the XTC legacy!

From early on XTC dominated the SA gaming scene earning them numerous acknowledgements on gaming websites and even in magazines such as South Africa's very own New Age Gaming (NAG). XTC over the years has built up top quality gaming teams and players and has been represented by some of the most talented competitive gamers in South Africa. This was apparent from early on in our gaming career where the XTC Counter Strike team was the first team to win the World Cyber Games Qualifier in South Africa and represent our country overseas in the WCG event in Korea 2001! This achievement from a South African team lead the way for other local teams to also strive and compete at international tournaments and really opened SA gamers up to a new world of competitive gaming.

In 2002 XTC continued to dominate the Counter Strike scene earning them a number of big tournament wins locally. Mark 'M4nimal' Gazard left for the UK to peruse his career at this time. XTC continued under the leadership of Kenneth 'Slade' Willmore and Owen Soul-Reaper' Boonzaire. XTC remained strong in CS as this was one of the most popular competitive titles in the world and earned again a number of impressive achievements in tournaments such as the Electronic Sports World Cup qualifiers and the 1000man lan. XTC also delved into games such as StarCraft which lead them to compete in an international online tournament known to all RTS players back then as the Super 12 (4 SA teams, 4 NZ teams and 4 AUS teams).

Many years later, M4nimal returned and reunited with Slade to start taking XTC back up to the top once again. The year was 2010 and XTC was reborn into a fully-fledged Multi Gaming Organization or MGO. We started this off by going back to two of our most loved games, StarCraft and Counter Strike. Early 2011 XTC expanded into the Call of Duty franchise earning them a top 3 finish at the New Age Gaming COD Black Ops event at Rage. By early 2014 XTC has now expanded into a number of gaming franchises namely, Quake Live, Call of Duty series, Battlefield series, DOTA 2, StarCraft 2 and Counter Strike Global Offensive.

From 2010 until July 2014 XTC has managed 15 1st, 6 2nd places, 11 3rd's and 10 4th place finishes spanning over 6 gaming titles. This is quite an achievement for any competitive gaming organization and shows that This email address is being protected from spambots.
